Affiliate Program

1. Enrollment and Tracking

All purchases, payouts, and reporting are handled by Gumroad. Bowdler does not operate a separate affiliate tracking system. Your Gumroad affiliate link is the only way to attribute a sale to you — if a customer buys without using your link, we cannot retroactively apply commission.

2. Honest Promotion

Promote Bowdler only if you genuinely believe it is useful for your audience. Do not make claims about features that do not exist, invent testimonials, or promise outcomes you cannot guarantee.

If you mention Bowdler alongside your affiliate link, your audience must clearly understand that you are in a business relationship with Bowdler and that you earn a commission on sales through your link. This must be stated explicitly — burying it in a footer or hiding it behind a "more" button is not enough.

3. Prohibited Conduct

• Sending spam emails, DMs, or any unsolicited outreach
• Posting affiliate links in communities that prohibit product promotion
• Tricking users into clicking affiliate links (misleading thumbnails, fake buttons, URL shorteners that hide the destination)
• Claiming Bowdler features or capabilities that do not exist
• Impersonating Bowdler or pretending to be an official representative
• Using your affiliate link for your own purchases
• Running paid ads that compete with Bowdler's own advertising
• Bidding on Bowdler branded keywords in search advertising

4. Cookies and Privacy

Gumroad uses cookies and local storage to track affiliate referrals. By participating in the program, you acknowledge that Gumroad may place tracking technologies on devices of visitors who click your link. You must comply with all applicable cookie-consent and privacy laws (including GDPR and ePrivacy) in your jurisdiction and disclose this to your audience where required.

5. Commissions and Refunds

Commission rates for existing affiliates do not change — 35% is locked in for as long as you remain in the program. If a customer refunds their purchase, Gumroad adjusts the corresponding commission in your next payout automatically. There is no penalty beyond the reversal of that single transaction.

6. Taxes

You are responsible for reporting and paying any income tax on your affiliate earnings in your jurisdiction. Gumroad will issue tax forms where required by law. Bowdler does not withhold taxes on your behalf.

7. Intellectual Property

You may not use Bowdler's trademarks, logos, or branding except as provided by Gumroad's affiliate assets or with prior written permission. You may not register domain names, social media handles, or app names that mimic or impersonate Bowdler.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate an affiliate relationship immediately and withhold pending payouts if these promotion rules are violated, if fraudulent activity is detected, or if the affiliate's behavior harms Bowdler's reputation. Commission rates for existing affiliates do not change unless the program ends entirely.

9. Changes to Terms

Other program terms, discount amounts, or policies may change, and active affiliates will be notified by email with at least 30 days' notice. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London, England.
